Oily polo filter (edited subject)

    appears to be a spark and fuel.... Have u had the plug out and checked them? it might need new ones. if its a carb poor a little bit of fuel down the intake and see if it fires.... could be that the carb is dirty if its an older model.

    what year is it???? is it injector or carb?

    if u poor fuel down just make sure it dont back fire in ya face if ur looking down it...lol. sometimes it works and cleans the crud from the carb as well

    Ditto the "chuck fuel down the carb" approach and check the ignition and valve timing are OK. Try cranking it while winding the dizzy round a few degrees in each direction to check.

    The Belgian chocolate approach is unlikely to work on a German, and never buy some for your own missus cos it makes them fat(ter) !

    Oh yeah, the oil in the airbox. Make sure the level is right. I saw one once that someone had filled up to the "kinks" in the dipstick rather than the proper hatched area which is much lower.
