OK, Going to convert the MK2 to 5 Stud

Got some MK3 VR Hubs, will be using Passat VR6 Wishbones so i dont have to change the ARB's

The question is, will the Passat Driveshafts i currently use be ok to use with the VR6 setup - ie are they the right length.

I've confused the hell out of myself checking part numbers

    Does anyone know?

I'm looking to order all new CV's, wishbones, ball joints bearings etc

    Cheers

    Andy

you sure using vr hubs and not vr wishbones the car will loose caster angle.. (vr hub ball joints sit fwd of centre line unlike passat/golf hubs & wisgbones

It will be VR wishbones, VR wishbones from a passat, they use the same hubs, ball joints etc as the Plus axle MK3 but use a 'MK2' typ ARB mounting

the only difference between the vr passat wishbones being the front arb mounting? (thru wishbone with the eyelet type fixing, not on back of wishbone via drop link like VR Golf/Corrado ones?

Finally got a set of VR Shafts and stripped them down and compared them to the passat wide track ones. . . The MK3 VR6 shafts are about 10mm or so shorter than the Passat ones.

    So defo worth changing them.

Cheers for the Info Bill

thats correct. i am after a passat vr6 long shaft, that no scrap yard has, they have loads of golf ones wich dont measure up.
    what a pain.
i got one from www.germanautoparts.com in the states $95. thats about 45 quid for shaft, cv's, boots all ready to go. ill let you know the quality when it turns up.

45/pair from breakers running on mine.. i have a selection of shafts i've been using..
golf vr wishbones are different to passat ones to suit mk3 vr hub with its fwd ball joint positioning.

shaft lengths are'nt what you would expect tho.. passat ones longer than VR ones...
