it is imagininary at the minute because it hasnt been measured on a dyno any of us seem to be familiar with. once it has been tested (rollers or the road) it will all be clear, but curious about the car cos its rare to see an 8v thats had a lot of work put into it that way. but as for imaginary figures, the best ive heard was a '280bhp' VR6 at a meet earlier this year, so i asked to see under the lid. no blower, not charger, no throttle bodies... apparently a cam job he was sure he got 100bhp from a cam job, so without a RR to verify this, the voice of reason in my mind (a todler lol) suggested we go for a quick chase. his excuse for mine passing him at the top of 4th was that his was wheelspinning. so, getting it on the road (or rolling road) makes it all clear
im cynical when it comes to rollers and power claims, but no one called you a liar tho, they couldnt, because nothing has been proven. like has been said, claims hold true on the dyno, then it would probably be one of the most highly tuned 8v on this site (bar the one with nitrous)
il be at stealth, running my modified inlet manifold and we shall see what happens. i dont use a massivley wild cam because i beleive most 'race' cams produce power from say 4000 - 8500 .... in which case when im in tight corners etc it wud bog down and be ****!! ok ive taken a pic of 1 of the pages i have, its not a graph its just the recorded figures of power at the wheels when the car first went on the rollers before we really got into it .... il await more comments of "imaginary" and "just made it" etc.
no one said you were lying lol youre quite emotional tho just get it down to the RR day and we'll see what it does, its all a bit of fun mate.
mine made 174 at stealth at... erm... 6400rpm before, you used to feel the power tail off after that, now it doesnt seem too, but i dont go far past there ever anyway.
matt is that at flywheel yeh??? so do you think that 215 @ flywheel isnt pos using HUGE injectors, TBodies, Omex fuel management???
my 174 figure is at the flywheel, which i totally take with a pinch of salt because i simply dont beleive it is correct. but since then i did a decat and some other bits, so hence if i get 180 this time, ill be happy cos it shows it has gained power. thats the point of a dyno. comparing gains or comparing your output to another measured on the same dyno. to find out you bhp youll need the engine out and put on an actual engine dynomometer and then youll stand a chance of knowing the real output
