    Hello ,

My Volkswagen Golf MK2 1.6 with Pierburg 2E is consuming about 15liters/100km and I can't handle with that .
So, I removed the carburetor from engine and checked all hoses and cleaned them they are okay , put a new oring manifold , removed air/fuel mixture and cleaned it , but when put it in place didn't know how much to adjust or so .
Autochoke is not working , but my car works okay without it , but consuming a lot for about 2 weeks !

    Thanks for any help

When the car is fully warmed up, remove the air box from the top of the carb and the choke flap should be fully open i.e. vertical. If it's not, the carb will be pulling in too much fuel. The car might sound OK but it will running too rich.
