The images on ETKA don't really look like these.
In the past when I have ordered the proper VAG hose clips the dealers have supplied worm drives.
It has happened again this last week and the worm drives they supplies were returned.
I avoid using worm drives! The worm drive on the left will have to go!
I have already bought loads o' stainless 'ear clips' from HCL.

HCL don't list them, and I have checked both Oetiker and NORMA, but neither show this design, just the type with large bent ends.
I have the proper pliers for the larger ends.

The useless dealer's workshop don't have the correct pliers nor know the VAG part number.
I can't find them here either!

    I have found the pliers!

    I have found the pliers!
On the SEAT tool site I noticed that pliers for input shaft clamps were made by Hazet!

So I checked their web site!

It's a shame Hazet don't give the spec. for the clips that the pliers are used on.

A search of images associated with these pliers might help?

I just pulled the pipes off with that clips sill on then pushed them back on though probably not the correct why lol
has also used hens legs but it only does one side and is a faff but that does work with the water pipes maybe you could modify a pair to work with this style of clip

It's really weird that you should say that MIke!

Firstly: As I walked from the barn to the house with the ipad I was feeling embarrassed to be going to post images of water pump pliers!
I have them only because my uncle, who had an Ironmongers shop, gave them to me back in the 1960s together with other high quality tools.
(Britool, Gordon and Bedford. These are Lucas Elliot as are other pliers and other tools from that era. I also have Marples wood working tools and, best of all, a 'Magnesium Alloy' 3 foot Marples spirit level. All made in Sheffield and about the very best you can get!)

Secondly: I really, really, do not like Water Pump pliers! The devils spawn.

Thirdly: Because I have never liked them, these were the pliers that I originally modified, back in the early 1980s, when we got our first Golf, to remove the constant tension clamps with the longer ears. I have the proper tool now of course!

Mind you they have one massive advantage over the ones that Hazet make!
Because of the fact that the jaws can be set at different openings my design will handle any size from the smallest to the largest.
With Hazet you need both to cover the full range.
Also. Because the single jaw is not as tall as the Hazet design I can get at clips that are mounted close to other pipes!

Why don't you like worm drive clips like the Jubilee branded ones?

    Lots of reasons sSon.

They are heavy, bulky, ugly and take a long time to fasten or unfasten.

Nothing worse than a rusted up worm that you can't turn.

As to 'Jubilee' brand clips. They are the very worst. The groove is so shallow that it is possible to turn the worm screw out of the groove.
I stopped using 'Jubilee' brand years ago for this very reason.

If a worm drive clip is a necessity I only use stainless ones where the band has slots in it.
I think these are the lightest and also the prettiest!lol
