New steering track rods arrived so fitted them with new boots, braided lcr hoses on front, droplinks on and dug out a brake pad sensor plug to fit,
Bleeding and solder wires due tomorrow, then can move it to the drive and get the rear anti roll bar fitted. 20220514_184356.jpg

Bit of an update, it's moved!!
Bled the brakes, charged the battery and have pulled it off the gravel and onto the driveway.
Jacked up the back and fitted the handbrake cables, old ones were stuck in the tubes so got the blowtorch out and melted the plastic a little to release them.
Then realised it was nearly 8pm and we hadn't had tea, plus couldn't find the rear cable clip to caliper.
Looked up the part number + online supply prices, shocking, plan to call vw to order them.
Pizza epiphany!! Suddenly dawned on me I'd used a set of clips on the golf, darn, had a cuppa, Boom! Remembered in the garage I had a pair of ibiza cupra calipers that had been chopped off control wise with bolt cutters, dug them out and result, clips still on them.
So, tomorrow's afternoon job hopefully will be fitting them, connecting the cables inside ( bbq jackfruit stuffed crust interrupted) and the wiper blades replacement. May even start the rear anti roll bar if enough time.
Gti front bumper has been stripped ready for prepping, bluemotion grille, new wings and splitter almost ready to paint.
And have found a milltek downpipe locally, a set of gti seats plus other bits so a trip out is imminent.
    Sorry no pictures this time.

Very true, plus you've seen my garage and shed @PhilRyder so probably the amount of stashed stuff affected it quite badly too.

Waste not, want not, so they say, gradually diminishing and clearing stuff, but got to get ruthless over the next few months ideally.
Got a 1.6 engine that is probably going for scrap as not wanted, heartbreaking really.

Been on a little drive after work, usual for the estate car to return home full of bits.

Will update tomorrow on the purchases.

Just to tease you, don't forget 256mm rear vented too.

Milltek downpipe acquired earlier, plus gti seats and anthracite headlining, plus a new passenger foglight arrived as had 2 cracked ones.

Back on 4 wheels, anti roll bar on the rear now, handbrake all working and... 20220521_165617.jpg

    20220521_161205.jpg

Seats are in, now have full set of red stripe belts in.
Still have the headlining to fit, ordered the 2 grey A pillar trims was missing, but still need to find visors and handles (can spray mine if needs be) but what I'm really after is the interior light assembly, need to work some magic there I think.
Small vanity lights and visor clips are on way, £12 for the set new!

Needs a blooming good clean, but... 20220521_171333.jpg 20220521_171308.jpg

And this completes the system. 20220521_170114.jpg

It's how Ed had planned it, he's fine, fits seem to have lessened to a couple a month now, another hospital appointment due soon. Thanks.

They are much nicer, plus I have some gti tartan left from the golf to retrim the door panels in it too.

Grey headlining is in, just a few bits to find to complete inside now.

TT Comps clear the calipers ? did you need spacers for the wheels? or did you need to mount Spacers to hold the caliper back ? Looks smart"! dont suppose you have the offset etc, There are loads of versions sizes and offsets for these and Id like to get some to go over my LCR Brembos on my MK3 Golf.
