An old family friend wants a cassette player in his Ford Focus. If I get one and wire it up for him, is it okay to connect to existing speakers, so that he either has original fitted radio on or the cassette player? Any advice welcome.

So he wants to keep the original radio and fit an additional cassette player?

Yeah he is 85 and got all his old jazz on cassettes, and can't be bothered to transfer to CDs plus CD player is bust on his Focus. I was going to get a radio cassette player and wire it in for him, but I am no expert with elastictrickery

Getting a radio cassette player would be the easiest route. Should be plenty of Ford units on ebay for the same era of Focus. Simple case of removing unit and unplugging the connectors. Reconnect the new unit - job done.

I think it is previous model, so too modern to have had cassette player
