    Hey All,

I have recently had the discs and pads changed on the rear of my 02 plate petrol 25th Anni GTi. All discs and pads are OEM and bar and new.

There is a really bad noise when I reverse - like an orchestra in the boot!

There is also a squeak when I brake.

Any thoughts? Three garages have looked and they can't see an issue.

    I am at a loss.

reverse it again till it starts making the noise, then jack the rear up each side and rotate the wheel to locate the source of the noise. If its that loud its got to be pretty obvious whats rubbing.

Pull the wheel off and check the caliper, you should have stainless steel inserts clipped to the carrier for the pads to slide on make sure fitted correctly. the pads should have sticky backing which holds them to the caliper, and finally wiggle the caliper with handbrake released there should be very slight play between caliper and disc maybe they wound the piston out just a little too far
