I've attached a picture of the bush section of the Rear beam of my Mk2 GTi. Aside for the general "Dredged from the depths appearance", these is a corrosion hole in the flange part? that fits round the convex section of the bush.

Is this flange actually required to stop the bush rotating or can it be removed without risk?
And if not, has anyone got a spare beam knocking about [:s]

    Thanks for the Info!
The actual rubber of the bush was really easy to drill out because it was that shot, but yeah sawing the sleeve out was a pain.

Managed it though and the beam is off getting blasted, so I'll see what's left when it comes back [:[]
