So my car is now pretty much a track car and now the next job is to tackle the brakes and running new pipes, bias valve etc so now I'd like to remove the abs system and pump and remove the associated wires from my loom and engine bay. I have started stripping the wires apart from the regular loom now I just have to remove it from the car. I also would like to use it on the road from time to time as it will be taken to the nurburgring And so on, but I also don't want to be driving about with an abs light on the dash or upset my mot tester!

Can I remove the light from the dash Through vag com or do I have to go old school and remove the bulb?

what car is it? you can switch off airbag and abs with vagcom on the mk4 chassis cars to do it you have to log into the can-bus gateway and switch off the required flags

Sorry it's a mk3 Ibiza Cupra 2001, I've been told you can remove the abs fuse and remove/place tape over the bulb but it does cause the handbrake light to beep and flash every time you opperate the handbrake apparently!

right looking at the ibiza diagram pins T32a/19 and T32/19 on the clocks are only earthed when the car hasn't got abs, so possibly earthing both those pins will disable the ABS warning? I wouldn't hold your breath that its that easy, but you never know

On a 2001 car, I would not recommend removing the ABS/TCS/Stability control system.
    It auto biases quite well.
