Well, had just finished getting the car ready for combe action day on friday, got all the brakes done, new disks and pads all round.

Went for a drive to bed the brakes in, as I didnt wana have to do it on track in the rain.

Had been driving for a good 5 miles and was on the way back up to the unit, the brakes all seemed fine, not pulling under braking at all.

It was absolutely chucking it down, was slowing down from 50ish, hit some standing water, clipped the grass verge, span, went sideways into the opposite verge which had a small drainage ditch, passenger side wheels caught the ditch, the car rolled over sidewards, almost twice, through a fence and bushes, ending up on the drivers side.

fortunatly I'm fine, not a scratch on me from the crash, just cut legs from climbing out through the bushes.

I gave Burni a call, and him an baz came out to my rescue. (cheers lads)

we managed to get the car rolled back onto its wheels, and halfway out the field.
Got it towed out the next morning.

considering its rolled theres hardly a scratch on it above the door handles.

Totally gutted for you mate. The main thing is your ok.

I know exactly how you feel. I spent thousands on a previous MK2, for it to be totally written off a week later. [:^(]

    Ouch [xx(]

Glad you're ok. Looks like most of the damage is bolt on panels though? Few pennies down the scrapyard may see you right? Chassis still straight?

    Cheers

yeah chassis looks fine, stripped the front end down yesterday, chassis legs and inner wings are still straight, door hinges dont seem to have shifted either.

It is just bolt on parts that are dented, a few tiny dents in the roof but nothing noticable unless your looking for it.

It bent a wishbone and tie rod, which only went on new last week :(

will replace those and take it for a drive, if it feels ok, will jus replace pannels.

Can't believe you didn't bend the roof or break any glass. Glad you walked away unscathed mate.

Glad you're ok dude, seems a few of us have done damage lately but yours was a serious accident!

It's gutting when you have a perfectly straight car and then you're having to source panels, I'm still searching for some after my trip through a fence...

Nice to see my blue golf in the background, should be going for MOT on Tuesday so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope you get it all fixed up.
