    Hello,
Not sure if right place to post this.
I have an 8v gti 1990. Its been perfect until recently now it starts most of the time okay but sounds rough when idling and when i stop at junctions or let the revs go to low the engine just cuts out.
when coasting the exhaust pops and gargles (which it never did before)
Any ideas what it would be?
    Thanks
    Alex

Am I right I’m thinking there’s 2 fuel pumps? Would It be the external one giving me the problem if it is that?

either pump would cause an issue

id suggest a bit diagnosis before guessing at parts ...good visual inspection for split hoses etc first
