Hey guys. Happy New Year btw

Right then, I was getting board of the stock power on my Mk7 Golf GTI PP, so decided to go ahead and buy a DTUK FSR+ tuning box, which ramped up the power to 307bhp and 337LB FT of torque.

Thinking the standard clutch would take the power, I was soon proved wrong when the clutch started to slip after 3 days :(

So, I'm going ahead and buying this kit -

    http://www.awesomegti.com/car/vw/golf-mk-7/sachs-performance-clutch-kit-for-volkswagen-golf-mk7-gti

And using it along with my standard DMFW, as I don't really want the chatter of the SMFW.

So, just wondering who has used the Sachs SRE Performance Orgnic clutch kit ?

Would like to hear some reviews from fellow members who have had experience of using this kit, and also how long the bedding in period should take ?

    Cheers in advanced.

    Rich.

If it's anything like my ed30 people prefer the helix organic over sachs.
Some have had problems with the sachs one.

Speak to Alex at AKS Tuning, he normally does them at a good price.

Been doing some research on the SRE Sachs clutches, and the majority of the reviews have been positive

The Sachs one above is actually an organic clutch, and rates at over 400lb ft.

Will have a look at the Helix ones too, but I want to retain the original feel of the clutch and keep my DMFW

A sports clutch is always a little heavier, especially when new. Less so when bedded in.
Shame you're so far down south, as you could have tried mine.

Edit: just had a look on the mk5 forum and it's the sachs clutch combined with the SMF that they don't rate. It's okay with the DMF.
Still check out the helix. It's a very nice clutch
