    Hi Guys,

I am in South Arica. The Sharan is very rare this side of the world. I cannot source an AWC motor and I am being offered AUM and AEB replacement motors. I just want to be able to plug and play without having to do extra mods etc. My concerns are firstly the wiring harness. Will everything work, and I have heard that there are some spares that will need to be changed? Not in the mood for all that rigmarole. Advice please. If its posted in the wrong place. Forgive me.

Morning from here in the UK.

Was your Sharan originally fitted with an AWC engine?

    Hi,

Yes it is the factory fitted motor. It is transverse, and I have since found an AUM that is also transverse. I have since my post done homework, and the best bet from what I understand is to use basically replace the actual power train and use the external parts off the original motor.
