There is a quite a lot of fuel parts listed with asterisks next to pump and fuel pipe and a few other fuel related parts.
I'll see if i can find anything interesting to share.
Hopefully I will find the test results somewhere.
They're just waiting to be found!

    Hi John,
I've just read through this thread once more and guess what......
I've had a spare ecu sitting in the cupboard for years now, I think it possibly could have come with the car. It's Digifant2. I put it on ebay around 2-3 months ago with no interest.
Someone sent me...would you believe it... an offer this afternoon. I haven't accepted yet but have about 17 hours to accept. bloody typical. So what's the plan, get back home early tomorrow and check for lambda probe?
If there isn't one is it worth fitting one and changing the ecu to digi 2 ?
    Here's the ebay link
    http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...29508&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&toolid=11111
    Thanks

I bought a spare G60 engine years ago just for the supercharger. It came with the loom and maybe the ecu. I've got the loom still for it.
I've another loom that came with the car. It seems to have been divided into 2 separate looms?
Maybe one for when the engine out or if the electronics were connected separately and so on. The loom that is fitted in the gti was labeled where everything went.
That info faded away so most of the labels are peeled off or blank.
These spare looms are in the boot of the Rallye which was moved to a new garage a few weeks back, they may have helped with understanding it all.
It makes sense having a retro fit lambda as you wouldn't want the ecu trying to fight with the testing.

As for the fuel pump I have just remembered I posted the info the technician sent me near the beginning of this thread.
he mentioned the fuels. he said the toluene fuel rotted some of the fuel system which had to change.
Thinking about the pump again, an easy way to clear that up would be to get in touch with the lab technician and ask.
    simple.

Mystery solved, that ECU is for 'RV' code engines which come with cat and lambda :)

may want to tell the bidder that, as its a 105HP ECU not 112HP (plus maybe you want to keep the history?)

There is a receipt for a new front silencer in the paperwork - 191 253 209N
I presume that was to replace the Cat.
Many thanks. That cleared that up.

I've got the car turning over, spark seems good, i filled the gearbox with oil. Ive just thought the engine oil can wait until it starts as it has the old oil in it still. butttt... Fuel Pump. It is Stolen. I wouldn't mind too much but the (am i allowed to swear) Bastards,, Cut the hoses short. How inconsiderate.
Just been offered a Carman earlier for a grand. I haven't seen it yet but its got to be another project whatever condition hasn't it? What do you think?

just mk3 tank it I'd say, get the lines, filter carrier plus rear loom and you're away. cabby have their own challenges, trying to source all the specific seals and endless roof and door adjustments to stop the leaks etc. is worth it when youre ragging it around on a summers day

I suppose 15'odd years ago when i had my last cab was a long time ago. Didn't really think about all the seals and things. He's not advertising it so no rush to buy it.
I'm going to look into the mk3 tank. Sounds a daunting challenge for me.
Well hope everyone's good and living the dream !!

Right I've got all the gubbin's I needed from Ebay. It looks like it will fit ok. The electrical connector coming from the car has 4 wires going to a 2 pin plug. Is that normal?
I could always plug it in and see what happens I suppose.

I think I've been a prat. I bought the pump assembly on ebay forgetting that my gti was a 'RV' code engine as i was informed by Rubjonny.
It is the the same as this one, without the hoses.

Well anyway this is the same as what i bought, I think this is for a PB engine ?
Have i got the wrong one? Probably knowing me !

that pump will do you fine, the RV is still a digifant :) replace all the rubber lines with new ethenol rated stuff while youre there, if in doubt go to the dealers. loads out there selling fake stuff :(

I've got another annoying question now. The Rallye's clutch pedal has fallen to the floor. Was ok for about 0.01of a mile. I paid a lot of money for the prop and mounts to be replaced and more. The work was done a while back, 3/4 years'ish when I had brain work done. I realised just recently I never got the old parts back, such as old prop shaft, old mounts and didn't get a receipt. You wonder whether the parts you give them are the ones you get back, eg. Charger especially. I don't know if i trust some of these performance companies anymore. The charger was only just refurbed a few hundred miles before but i think they did it again. Couldn't they tell when they opened it up? Maybe they should of bolted it back together again. They are meant to be proper specialists in tuning and bespoke work but, £3500. Mind you I don't think I've seen a prop shaft for sale for a long time, maybe he had the original straitened out costing a few quid or put an Audi one in??
They had an 'all you can eat' sort of thing or 'all you can charge'
Well I've diverted and my rant is now over, but I might as well change both slave and master on the Rallye..? Ive got to work on the Rallye as it's in my mates mum's garage. She expects me to work on it rather than just leave it there. It doesn't look too much a challenge to change the clutch cylinders but first things first, GTI !
Corrado would you believe has fuelling problems. Its been sitting for maybe 10 years now. If I put that on the road I will probably lose interest with getting the GTI moving.
So shall I change master or slave first on the clutch. if anyone can advise please?
    Many Thanks.

could be air in the system, though wouldnt just happen if it was working alright before. pop the slave off the gearbox, if its leaking fluid theres your problem

Fuel pump, housing, Pressure Reg/accumulator and pipes are all fitted to the GTI. When turning the engine over it seems to struggle. Please, please I hope I have fitted the clutch properly! After trying a few times to turn it over I decided to disconnect the battery and burnt my hand doing so.
I think that must be the engine struggling rather than a flat battery to produce that much heat. I think I will take the plugs out and see if it turns over any easier.
Much obliged with the help with the Rallye Clutch dropping to the floor. I will have a look at the Slave when I get a chance. I've got a spare Rallye gearbox with the slave still attached. I may as well buy a new one for the price though.
Hopefully the weathers going to be nice for a while so GTI first!
    Thanks rubjonny.

I managed to do a few bits this afternoon. I took the plugs out and the engine turned freely. I've got spark too. The battery is on slow charge, so next job is to get some fuel and see what happens.

Hopefully I'll be mobile very soon. :)
