Had a phone call from the police last night, golfy has been found :) the car is currently awaiting police examination at a local recovery yard, hopefully I can collect it mid next week.

was a real suprise, I never thought i'd see it again, there's no word on condition as yet although the police did say there was no body damage visible, I'll update when I get more details.

Will the insurance company want any money back?

This is the best thread revival ever. Glad to hear it's coming home for Christmas.

Good news in time for Christmas, will you be getting the car back though as surely if the insurance have paid out on it then surely technically it's now their car? How does it work?

Thanks for all the kind wishes gents, yes I can't wait to get behind the wheel again, I'm just hoping its in a drivable condition.

The car was uninsured at the time ( I foolishly presumed that the lock up was secure) so I think it should be quite straightforward,
