I deal with profile cutters all the time, 1/2 off you'll incure a minimum order charge unless they'll take a backhander get 10 or more done the cost of each bit goes down significantly what to them lupo bracket plates cost?
if say a quantity of around 10 profiles ordered 10mm thk even out of aluminium they would be less than that and no trimming off excess bracket needed

I have ordered some of these too (and the long bolts that go with it) from Citygate VW in Chalfont, but there will be a delay as they are on back order by VAG UK apperently.
Add the width of the spacer to the existing (car you've got) bolt length and ensure the Lupo OE bolts measure up. Either that, or get the Ford ones recommended in this thread: http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101233
Just to confirm. These spacers are from the lupo GTI. The Bolts are are the same as the golfs. M10x32mm. Not sure if they would need longer bolts??? This must mean the rear brake assembly must fit also, to make changing of the disks easier too if you have 4x100 wheels.
Please read the thread. It couldn't be clearer. If you take a Mk1/2/3 Golf and just buy the spacers, the Mk1/2/3 bolt length will need to increase by 9.5mm. The Lupo bolt needs to be compared with a Golf 1/2/3 bolt to ensure it is 9.5mm longer before using. Otherwise Ford bolts.
the bolt should stick about 10mm out the back of the beem on the standard gti setup the lupo uses longer bolts M10x40mm the part number is N 90886301
The Lupo GTI are completley different model to the normal lupo, 6E0 instead of 6X0. I have one so should know it. As not to confuse everyone else. Vw dealers aren't too helpful when you don't give car details. Correction on bolts.. was looking at wrong number in etka GTI bolts are the ones stated. Not all lupo's are the same.
yip the low spec lupo's have the same bolt as the golf mk1/2/3 M10x32mm and the lupo gti has M10x40mm
Just for clarification, are the M10 bolts M10 x 1.5 or M10 x 1.25 thread ? Its a lot cheaper to go to a local hardware store for 10.9 Bolts rather than VW. Great info regarding the Lupo spacers, thanks for sharing that, I`ll get a pair..
When I did this, I found the mainstream hardware store bolts in that size/tensile strength came in Allen heads only. That's why the Ford source is mentioned since they have a bigger underhead surface area, which I felt was more stable (esp if running shims underneath the stub axle) (& I'd be loathed to have an Allen rounding off).
30secs on Ebay found these M10x40mm 10.9 Hex Head Bolts I appreciate they are 1ea, not sure how much they are from Ford ?
I originally did this conversion in 1995, and found them after giving up on the local fasteners outlet and going cap-in-hand to a company preparing Escort Cosworth rally cars. As they were Group N cars, I've just sourced them from the local dealers since, last bought a set about 5 years ago IIRC. Ford parts are cheap - I'd be surprised if I paid more than 10 for 8.
