    Hey guys,

My syncro rear beam has drum brakes, and obviously no one wants drum brakes! so I’m looking to convert.

I’ve not taken anything apart yet, but from what it looks like, it’s just a case of unbolting and then bolting on the adapters, carriers, caliper etc?

the rear arms have the same part number from the Rallye stuff and syncro, from what I can tell.

As everything else syncro, there’s no real information or pictures (god damn you photobucket!!) so if you’ve got any magical tips, that would be great!
    Thanks

not as of yet, I don’t think, need to double check. There’s one on eBay at the moment I was going to buy if not.
    Why’s that?

All the cars with rear discs have them.

Oh yeah I know, I’ve got one from the original car, the Syncro one looks a bit different I don’t know if that’s because it’s the drum one or not though. Need to look into it.

chances are you have one, the higher spec 2WD cars 1.8 8v/gti/16v and turbo diesels did. have a look, you'll soon see ;)

then its just a case of check you have the mounting holes on the rear wishbones for the caliper carriers, not all syncro models have them. iirc early non-gti had non, later syncro got the same wishbones as gti. but i'm no expert

Yeah I’ve definitely got one, I know that.

but the Syncro one looks different. I’m going to strip it all apart this weekend so I’ll have a look.
