As we know the haynes manual is full of lies, I think its time a thread was put together to correct them all! Heres a couple:

    4C Fuel & exhaust K-Jet 16v
6 Throttle valve switch - testing (Haynes has the pin number tests wrong, plus the diagram is wrong!)

1 Pull the wiring connector from the throttle valve switch.
2 Using an ohmmeter, check that with the throttle closed there is zero resistance
between terminals 2 and 3 but a reading of infinity between terminals 1 and 2. With the throttle open, the readings should be reversed (see illustration).
3 To adjust the switch, insert a 0.10 mm feeler blade between the throttle lever and stop (see illustration), then loosen the screws and move the switch towards the lever until the contacts are heard to click. Tighten the screws on completion and remove the feeler blade.

10 Suspension & Steering (PAS track rod length isn't the same as manual)
15.11 Check that fixed length of left-hand driveshaft is as specified between points indicated, for PAS systems:

If anyone has any more add them up

Mk2 Golf (plus many others) Radiator: Thermo-switch for electric fan, 35 Nm ElsaWin, Haynes 25 Nm

You will need a 30mm deep socket for this, its actually 29mm across the flats, but a 30 Hex will do the job and you might actually get use it again for things like hub nuts. Being 1/2" you may need a converter for use with 3/8" torque wrench.

It's 1 1/8" - think plumbing - one of very few non metric sizes used on VW's (another one is the oil filter housing thread

There are a couple of problems with the stuff relating to the Pierburg 2e2 carburettor.

Haynes (1081) reckons - in the text relating to testing of the pulldown unit - that the thermotime valve is connected to the pulldown unit; it is on the 2e3, but not the 2e2. On the 2e2 it is plumbed in to the 3/4-Point Unit instead.

It doesn't mention the function, testing or anything else to do with the waxstat. As one of the most common problems on this carb, this seems a shame.

red manual section 12,wiring diagrams 12.31
    diagram 21
electric windows-1.8 models with carb pre july 87

this is starting ,charging and ign...not electric windows,,one of the more obvious haynes blunders but still a mistake
diagram 22 is the same but correct

We aren't alone here, its not just restricted to our cars but other brands/models ,the Haynes manuals are peppered with errors and misinformation or no information @ all, editions for later model cars appear to be worse in this respect....don't know why ?,my T4 transporter one is not great.
Lucky we have the net to research....however there tends to be some rubbish info on there so you have to weed out the BS.
    Rant over.
