Not sure if this is any help to you Chris...

I used Evo Stick to fix in the Carbon panel to the OE clocks when I did mine. Holds it solid!

Thanks. Looks like you've stripped the glass out also.

How thick was the carbon? Was the digi readout bolted in from behind?

There is no need for the glass. Is only to protect the OE clocks from dust / damage. It also adds to glare at night. The carbon is about 2-3mm with the dash just screwed on from behind. Not too sure how the Stack is mounted, guessing it is screwed as well.

    Well, restart it!

Let's hope some useful ideas come in. I've got some light & switch sources to add.

Inlays are the real prob - getting them right and secure in a track car makes a lot of sense!

I actually have MegaSquirt in my mk 2 rallycar - but what is that display exactly?
Does it do speed as well?

I'm currently sporting a Koso instrument - looks great, has all the needed functionality - but the rev counter is a piece of c**p.
It has a choice of high og low current input, where high is for output from ECU or stock igniter f.ex. Commonly regarded as the "safer" choice, more clean signal etc... however: it works really bad. And I'm not the only one with that issue it turns out. Apparently as the instrument gets warmer from use, or just exposure to the sun from driving on a hot day, it just stops reacting to the input.

Then I'm fiddling about with low current input, which is actually an inductive kind of thing, where you wrap a wire around one of the HT leads. My it is so noise ridden that a lot of the time the needle is all over the place. At full throttle and +4000 rpm it is fairly stable though. That helps a lot for my application - but I'm not satisfied.

Tried emailing the manufacturer, but no joy... bought the unit off of Ebay, seller long gone... grrr...

Anyway: Can't really recommend Koso dash'es...

It is the MS touch screen LCD. Hooks straight to the box and displays everything the MS has shown in megatune

speed is the on thing it does not have. However since we run it in a rally car we use our rally computer for speed. It is a display for the megasquirt, so it only shows what you have inputed into the ecu.
