I don't think it's CC, since they're 25mm dia in the Demon Tweeks catalogue. IIRC, CC tend to be thicker.

I bought 1 metre of 38mm OD CDS from Merlin Motorsport in the summer for 17.85 incl VAT. It's more than likely you'd need 2 metres though (I got two half metre offcuts), so you can double that - 34.89, and that still excludes the tags and the effort to make them. Makes 40 ready to weld in, with end plates seem cheap tbh.

Quite a nice product though - saves a fair bit of time buying them like that with the tags on already.

it's a time v money thing on those premade ones. a lot less hassle to buy some ready mades if your paying someone to do it. you could have them profiled and welded in the car within an hour.

I used spreader plates on both sides. Much stronger in my opinion.

How hard was it to get the right seating position for you legs?

Do you have a row of holes on the seat mounts for forward / backward adjustment when fitting or is it a matter of measure twice drill once?

Sorry I meant lap belts. I couldn't see them from the pics so thought you hadn't made them yet.

What I was going to say was if you're mounting a plate and captive nut (FIA spec ones are about 1.50) then becareful when you're drilling the tunnel. You probably know anyway but its doubled skinned, so try not to drill through the second skin. Will help prevent rust between the skins developing.

bit of both mike i figured out where i wanted the seat and then put the rails 262 mm centre to centre apart . as the side mounts have 5 positions (262mm centre to centre) so i can move mine fwd and aft

i am however going to buy a dished steering wheel sometime so i can have relaxed arms if you get me ?

Is it true that in a good seating position if you hold your arms out straight pointing your fingers your wrists will rest on the top centre of the steering wheel?
