 Your mad... I wouldn't call it mainstream hiphop bullshi t at all mate. Tunes featuring 50cent, eminem and snoop is more commercial, mainstream bullshi t, but not any of Pac's tunes! Whenever do hear a Tupac tune being repeated all day long on Kiss 100, None!!! The only tune of his ive heard on the radio is "Changes". Compare this to Eminem or 50, there always being over played and commercialised!!!
Tupac was and is still a legand in the hiphop industry by far... No doubt about it... There has not been any other rapper to this day who could even get close to compare to him...

    Heres some more tunes anyway...

not really a fan of tupac, but at least he raps about proper stuff unlike everyone else nowadays!

t.i's probably the best commercial rapper from america at the mo, and british rappers rap about real stuff, much better than their american counterparts.......

I'm sorry you lot are nuts. Was never a fan of Tupac as his command of the english language and his wordplay is poor at best - A poor rhymer and no mistake! Not a good role model at all and anybody whos into Rap in a big way would tend to agree; its only daft little little woefully ineducated Hip-Hop groupies who think he's great!. There are far better rappers out there before and after Amiri.

agreed. i mentioned that earlier. hes nothing special and there are 1000's of better rappers out there. 2pac is in the same league as 50cent and all that pi$h. there really is no excuse to listen to just 2pac, variety is the spice of life and all that...

 You make me laugh... How can he be a poor rhymer. Your obviously not into the rap scene then and haven't got a clue [:s] !!! By the way, im not a daft little woefully ineducated Hip-Hop groupie either. [:x] I like his music and the meaning behind his records, and anyone who is into Rap in a big way definately listen's to Tupacs music, no doubt about it!!! He raps the truth and some people can relate to what he's rapping about!

The likes of 50 Cent, Eminem ect.. were all Influenced by tupac. He sold an amazing 74 million records, the highest selling Rap artist to date! And no other rapper can compare to this! -

    Just a few exapmles below!!!

    http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/969128

How many records has 50 cent sold? = 40 Million -

    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_records_has_50_cent_sold

How many records has Jay Z sold? = 33 million albums sold -

    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_you_get_a_list_of_all_of_Jay-z's_albums_and_what_they_sold

So how can any other Rapper compare to him? I can't think of any Rapper who's was so successful before or after him?

Its not just the rap scene in which he was successful in, he made many movies such as -

    Above the Rim
    Juice
    Gridlock'd
    Gang Related
    Poetic Justice

These were all great movies, performed by a great actor and were very Underrated.

Who's that then... JZ, NAS, EMINEM, 50 CENT, they are all too commercialised and over played. This is what the "daft little woefully ineducated Hip-Hop groupies" listen to, especially all the little rudeboy kids who are still at school and think they are "Gangsta" when they hear these **** records!
Most of there records are played over & over & over again on the radio and music channels all the time.
The only Tupac records i hear being played alot is "Changes" and "Broken Wings", and the one's ive added to this thread are not commercial at all. Some of them are even unrealeased!!!
I put this thread up for people who generally like Tupacs music!

jesus, are you selling this $hit? calm yourself man. we think he's hyped up nonsense and theres alot better out there that all. listen to what you want just dont force it on us. what else do you listen to, hip hop wise if your so educated on the scene? ive listened to hip hop for over 20 years and think anyone ignorant enough to argue there "is no better rapper out there" that 2pac really has no idea what THEY are on about. so sorry for being harsh but you come across as a daft little woefully ineducated Hip-Hop groupie yourself.

At the end of the day i dont mind what you think maybe better, in my eyes Tupac was, and still is a legend throughout the HipHop scene.

By the way, I don't just listen to Tupac. I like alot of Dr Dre's records. Snoop is another favorite of mine(more into his less unheard/unrealeased records), as is Eminem, Biggie (his records are great),
I'm more into my Uk music tbh. I love my Jungle/Drum and Bass. Enjoy alot of House and Garage, most of which is the earlier speed garage and like a little Funky House.
So my music taste varies alot.

But when it comes to HipHop, in my opinion, Tupac rules it outright end of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im not comparing who is better, im merely pointing out that your argument that "theres no better" doesnt hold much weight when you give examples of what else you listen to - Dre? Snoop dog? eminem? c'mon man its all the same stuff, same record labels, same tired old 'gangsta rap'. broaden your horizons a little and then you can make grand statements like you do. what about tribe called quest, del the funky homosapien, public enemy, beastie boys, de las soul, NWA etc etc etc. you cannot possibly say there is no better when your drawing comparisons with snoop dog, dre and the likes. Im talking about hip hop that serves a purpose, not the glamorised nonsense you seem to think you can relate to.

"I doubt you'd ever say it to my face" - indeed, i fear you'd get 187 on my ass.

Okay I didn't mean to cause any offence folks ^^ As the guy above says broaden your horizons.

Incidentally I've been an avid fan, listening and collecting rap for 24 years and I have thousands of records and CDs - crate and crates and crates of them so it up to you to form an opinion on whether I know my **** or not.

N yeah I know his movies n seen them all numerous times - He had more potential and displayed a flare and talent readily as an actor for sure.

Tupac was average to good rapper - He wasn't fantastic by any means but in the same breath he wasn't bad either it's just all of you seem to be dancing up and down like rabid teenagers - Not that there's anything wrong with showing lots of enthusiasm - Thats a great feeling. I'm a cynical old git and perhaps I've been overly jaded by all the hype and expliotative (is that even a word?) marketing after his death? [:$]

I have all of his albums to and there are a few tracks which are pretty damn decent -I didn't mean to offend anybody or his legacy - Nobody deserves what he got but there are far better out there than him in terms of rhyming - Bid Daddy Kane? Souls of Mischief 93 to Infinity, Apathy (not sure if Im getting confused with someone else) for example display some fantastic wordplay and there are numerous others but I have a seriously crap memory so without going and spending ages looking I cant quote directly but I can assure you there are plenty.

The comment regarding woefully ineducated groupie blah blah was from direct experience - He was average and was made a martyr from being popped; that and clever post death marketing made him a commercial widespread star (It wasn't his succes but the record companies that explioted his untimely death) in the period of a few months and every little kid and teenager at the time suddenly became rap gurus so I apologise if I'm being overly cynical.

Sales yeah fantastic for the record companies but they are not a measure of talent or success- Take a look and listen to somebody like say KRS-One... Thats what real rap is about- upliftment and postive mental attitude and success of self and he's not the only one by any means but most folk don't have the faintest clue. They but an Game album or spend a couple of years listening and then they think the're the definitive source on whats what. Like when everybody and their momma started listening to Cypress Hill and became self proclaimed rap gurus... Yet you mention any one of their later numerous and more mature albums and most people don't have a clue.

Drugs, Gees, Hoes, Slangin rocks, sex blah blah is unfortunately what sells and rap has been eating itself for a long long time - The record companies promote the model that sells so you either go it alone or you sell out. Sex and Violence sells!

I've been rash and overly cynical but I would not have any qualms with saying to your face either so dispense with the childish threats - I'm a fight breaker and not a fight starter and ego aside I promise that I can easily take care of myself. If your self esteem can't take a bit of criticism I suggest that you go and get some councelling.

    EDit:
I'm feeling pretty damn ill at the moment - I have a stinky cold and I'm bad tempered as hell and I seriously didn't mean to p1ss on anybodies chips so chill again I'll apologise for my earlier comments.

PEACE! I'm ghost like casper, see you ....
