Change the name of the folder on Photobucket. The swear filter is causing the problem as as it changes 'slag' to 'sl*g'.

edit: most of the black stuff on the floor washed off but there is some really sticky stuff that was holding the carpet down in key places that is like tar & really hard to remove.

:lol:riley you nutter, nice to see your back into the car again [:D].

Question: can you use rear seat belt mechanisms in the front?

Because i have examined the reels & they look identical except the rear has that pin sticking out which can be unscrewed & there is even a hole for it in the front ones?

The only big difference i can see is the end of the belt:.....the front one has that hex shaped spring inside that folds the belt down when you release it so a passenger doesnt trip over it when climbing into the back & the rear one just has that triangle shaped 90` piece on the end with the bolt hole in the middle oh yeah & it's fixed not rotatable.

But if it's for a track car would it make any differerence & would the mechanism work?

Gary i will be fitting harnesses eventually but the only stuff im doing at the moment is the really cheap stuff as i still gota grand to pay back on the garage 1st & i may go for a roll cage before the harness ;)but then again im removing the dashboard eventually so i gotta check the cage as i want it to come down as far into the footwell as possible as i could always go through the bulkhead & link up with the front towers .

Riley good point , gonna measure them tomorrow, didnt want to open them as i wouldnt want to mess them up but the spring mechanism seems almost new on the rear ones but the front ones are showing their age when winding that last bit up when you get out.

Good stuff - now riley get back to it and mike that black sticky stuff comes off with the heat gun and a paint scraper....real easy

don't do like me when I washed the shell - i put loads of degreaser everywhere and some got on the sticky black stuff which loosened it "slightly" then of course couldn't resist hitting it with the washer!!! SPLAT it lifted the top of it and scattered it all round the inside of the car que a petrolly rag and lots of rubbing to get it off
