Not sure on the camera as it was will's (oakgreen88).

The gearbox is a 4+E mated to the 2.1 8v so you can imagine how bad it was with a short ratio box using gears up too quick but the now longer ratio's compliment the torquey motor.

    cheers all

i tell ya what i can really see a difference from your 8v with 4+e and mine which was 16v and 4+e,looks like its more suited to yours [:D]

took the rubber off from around the rear hatch to remove the rest of what was left of the edge of the headlining......that's all glued on & solidified [:x].

Only thing thats working is a new stanley blade ...nearlly there, going to re-cover the seam edge (that the rubber slides over) with new insulation tape then chuck the rubber back on over the top of it for a tighter fit.

Do you have craig from big brother in the passenger side ;)

When changing gear why do you redline it for so long?

    Sounds beasty though!

    Sam

Edit: *Listens again* Is that a wheel spin i can hear in 2nd? :p

Craig David = will (oakgreen 88).

Redline? no it just hits the limiter at 6300 & i cant be asked to watch the rev counter whizz up so instead i just wait for it to pop then change gear (i also like the sound of it popping away ).

wheelspin yes but i wasnt exactlly screaming the guts off her either [:$]........was wheelspinning in 3rd in the wet the other day .

EDIT: seems towheelspin more sincei stripped her out????

Neil yeah that stuff is a git to remove......painted all the way around the seam just now (inside & outside) for today & when it's dry i'll get the rubber seal back on for the hatch.

Also found out why one cluster is letting in water........2 of the captive nuts in the cluster had broken off [:x]......i take it thats a new cluster required? [:^(].

I think what caused it was that when (maybe i) put it back on the bottom centre bolt wasnt in the hole & when the rest were done up the bolt was pushing against the panel putting extra pressure to the top bolts [:^(].

    Sorted it neil [:D].

Took the 2 light clusters off, cleaned everything up, straightend the panel upso the clusterfits flush again, flipped over the cluster rubber seal so it resets itself, moved 2 of the captive bolts so the 2 missing were top middle & bottom middle then used some nice fat grub screws into the thread hole that originaly held the bolts.

top thread, what bhp is the 2.1 8v pushing out.

you dont need to hit the limiter though as you losing valuable timeif using on trackdays, sprints etc.

should be a weapon when done though
