I stumbled accross some cam specs the other day in a master cam list (not catalouge profiles). There are a lot of variations but many in the 14mm lift & 328-338 duration ball park (yep... you did read that right!).... wots known in the trade as spring breakers!

A friend of mine recently saw an ex F3 head at our machinist. Looked like it was originally a flat head (1600 based?) but with a very shallow chamber machined into it. I did'nt get the chance to go and see it myself but the cam part number was noted for me...;)

funny he called my 11.7mm lift cam soft saying that they used cams with just over 14mm of lift. he also said that the F3 engines and most supervee used the original rods!! but polished and peened

    ;)

I believe they used Audi rods because they had bolts rather that bolts & nuts, and the area around the shoulder is thicker.... I think they ran them to 9k.

A friend of mine has run his standard 1800 rods to 8k for many years without any problems so they're not too bad.

I still have the original hotrod cam (13.4mm lift 328/300 duration) which will go in for some testing when I re-build mine, though there wont be much drivability below 4k.... just have to keep the revs up....

Slightly overdue, but here are 13 pages of info on Super Vee:

    http://www.vwmotorsport.info/vwcat/SuperVee.pdf

2.8MB - right click, save as.

Watermarked due to the habit this sort of information has for turning up on eBay [:^(] or uncredited elsewhere (and many thanks to Razzer for donating it  ).

    Addutional info also found:
