The time is coming soon, when we need to get a health check on all those power and torques used on those track days. So Club GTI is hooking up with two of the club sponsors to make that happen.

In the month of August, we head to Badger 5 in Gloucestershire, for a fun day of powers and torques with Bill.

We all know Bill Brockbank very well, from his old 200bhp Jetta, to his 20v big turbo builds and he welcomes Club GTI to his Badger 5 facility.

I will announce more about this in the coming days.

In the month of September we have another dyno day. This time we head to Jason Moyle Racing or JMR down in Cornwall to meet his dyno man Alvin.

Jason or "mrhillclimber' as we know him on here, is race engine builder and has shared with us various 'how tos' on porting cylinder heads and the flow bench comparisons.
I had a long chat with Jason recently and addition to being a true petrol head would be happy for Club GTI to have a dyno day at Alvin.

I will announce more about this when all has been finalised with Jason.

Just a brief summary of what to expect in the upcoming weeks.

    Cheers

    Ed

I would love to meet Jason, but Cornwall is too far for me.
Very keen to get over to Bill's, not seen him in years, and not seen the premises either.

Nice to see these days at various VAG specialists around the country. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! That's unfortunate. I'm sure you'll get it buttoned up again for some more fun eh?

    Great idea Eddie.

In the future, I`d like to see some locations a bit further North (yes people actually live in that bit above London ! , but they do talk funny...) for those of us unable / unwilling to make the long trek down South for a dyno day...

I'll be up for popping down to see Jason and Alvin again! They did a cracking job of mapping the car last month. And Jason makes a mean cup of coffee! lol

Would be good to get on the rolling road but I would be representing 'diesel power', PD130 Mk1 Golf; I wouldn't want to offend anybody by smoking them out on the rollers!

    don,t worry gurd s , I will be back shortly .
going for a bit less power , with smaller crank , was fed up with the 2,1 eating clutchs broke 2 in 5000 miles, any how, and it drank oil like it was a 2 stoke .
be interesting to see the same set up on a bit less compression . see what happens .;) won,t be long now.
bring on the dyno day
