aye but if he's using the berg kit, how much extra track width would be needed for a typical 7x15?

dont know - too wide and the car will handle like a dog on bumps / cambers

mine tries to throw itself in the hedge on 8" fronts

I am hoping to still use 7 x 15 but with an offset to cater for the extra width gained by the arches, just that i am stuck at the moment to test anything as the kit isn't going on until the end of next month & won't be back to me for a few weeks, so just testing the water to see what others have done as i want the car on the road when it's back & not to have wheels hidden away somewhere in those arches..
ultimately i would like to go true wide track with my other common et wheels i have but that won't happen until next year as everything underneath has to be moved/extended so looking for a temporary fix to make the car usable that looks the part until into next year when funds have a chance to recover from costs of body shop.

Carvell scirocco also ran 16/17" wheels, mainly due to tyre choice I believe?

    Sorry to hijack thread.
Has anyone got any pics of this car???
I would like to run 17's on mine because i've flared the arches on my scirocco.

    This is my solution.

MK3 vr6 plus axles set up. MK2 gti rear beam with 10mm spacers either side. PAS , 288 brakes, BIG arb's, poly bushed....free parts! Gotta be neat with the plasma though.

    This is on 7x 15 compo's
