 Sorry? I did start another topic about scrub radius etc but everyone likes this post.

All this stuff is very interesting. Thanks dudes! Oh yea, I can go into corners with more speed and the car is more steady but understeers on power but not off power. Eccentric top mounts with more negative camber & castor would slove this methinks. Peeps that race say it would help. Stiffer springs and anti-roll bars wil also keep the car flatter. Due to the height I run the car, I am going to extend the ball joint fixing to keep the wishbones flat. This should solve my handling issues. I will be testing different combinations of alignment. I know its not calculated to exact specs but will see how it goes. [:D]

    Hi

    Good this.

Your 2nd para - I dont agree I'm afraid, either eccentric or the type showed will allow the positioning of the strut top to (maybe) get the strut angle back - but neither in this setup will allow castor gains to be made over stock.

Your 3rd para - yes I do answer my own question - just confirming what you have already said but going through the steps more I guess.

    Cheers

    Rob

I'm not sure on spec or what parts they're using right now. But they have some pics up of a semi-prepped copper Ibiza. Apparently being built for track days so you would think the handling is one thing they want to get right at least. TBH I have no idea whether they are simply plonking on the same kit used to create the motorshow car or using the wide arches and re-engineering, in a loose term, the suspension. Hey, it could be none of those but be good to see how the finished articles goes.

I already mentioned this, you could get the strut angle back but not without loosing control of the castor.

This was what I was looking for when I originally replied to Prof,

I've never understood the point of those eccentric top mounts, seemsed daft to not be able to move the castor and camber seperately..... [:s]

could just remanufacture the top of the front turrets to put the top swivels wherever you like

Bill have you seen Trendy tramp/awtracksports adjustable spherical jointed wishbones, might be just what you are looking for

Thats more like it - this will work so long as not trying to go wider than perhaps 10-20mm

People use eccentric ones as their cheap, certainly less than 100 - the ones shown are pretty expensive I would think, nice though

Of course another issue with trying to increase castor is that the strut itself needs to be longer - and many 'street' performance kits are too short as it is

    Cheers
