X-Flow Heads....

    Could anyone tell me which UK spec 8v engines use a crossflow head? Im told the MK4 does as does the beetle, but I dont know the codes. Can anyone help?

    1.6 and 2 litre mk4 golfs

    AKL and APK codes.

    Also, do they fit the mk3 2e blocks?

    hehe yeah he did, he mentioned what your doing to me, and we had a discussion about it.

    The heads have to be modded to make them fit the earlier blocks, but its not impossible

    Worth it as opposed to using a standard 8v kjet head though?

    He might want the crossflow head for an American Turbo conversion...EIP Tuning do DIY Kits for like 1500-2000!! Worth it if you know what your doing :)

    UPDATE: I may have found myself a head to fit [:D] Just wondering, does anyone know what kind of compression these heads give with the earlier blocks? I can imagine PhatVR6 maybe knowing this? What did lee use to lower cr on his 8v?

    Yes. Would be nice if it give a lower cr. I know fitting the 16v heads to 8v blocks lowers the compression to a silly level which is fecking ideal for turbo'd engines.

    UPDATE: Thinking I might just use the entire mk4 engine now. WHich code is the 2.0? Is it APK?
