    ;)

I think the door was about 900. It`s custom-sized, with opening being 6`10" high x 9` wide. I think standard width is 10`.

    A small update;

    Essentials installed.

Extraction system will double as an exhaust fumes extractor in the front half, and a paint fumes extractor in the rear half. Filter units still to source/fit, and a flexi section for for exhaust fumes.

That was from a few weeks ago. A block wall and door has since gone up to create the compressor house/toilet, and most of the walls have been painted. Soon be finished...

    Another weekend update;

Compressor room/toilet finished (some second-fix still to do.)

Back when the it was finally all weather-tight there was a few inches of water in the pit that was pumped out. Being that the outside of the structure is `tanked` some of that water must have seeped through, and been held on the outside of the blockwork, and is now slowly seeping back in, so the de-humidifier has been working overtime, but it`s getting there.

Fixed air-line salvaged from the old garage. A dozen or so planned around the whole garage for ease.

The main sectional door needed some tweaking, but nothing that was tried sorted in perfectly, so a better 6mm steel frame was knocked up as a better datum.

Door now runs 100% perfect. Totally silent!

Some extra exterior trim added too.

Another small issue has been water getting through hairline cracks in some of the panels from the salvaged garage. Not unexpected since they have been lying stacked in the garden for nearly three years!

Given they are such fine cracks, and that pointing them was out since it`s polished concrete (it wouldn`t stick), the next option was roofing flashing tape.

    High tack primer added first.

Then flashing tape applied. Same technique as Dynomat; bit of heat, and push flat with a roller.

Then the whole wall treated with Water Seal.

    Flying the flag! ;)

Next up will be ensuring the wall is totally water-proofed before painting, then it`s the floor to do, and the main `construction` is finished. Just some final fixtures/fittings to install, then the fun can begin... ;)

Brilliant, more interested in building than building cars at the moment which is a shame. This is a top thread!

Right, time for another update...bar some lights in the pit, it`s finished!

The original plan for dividing the garage in two, was a concertina-style door, but a simpler solution was found.

An old garage that my mate had built at his parents` years ago donated it`s shutter door with removable runners, and access doors either side.

Side doors are made from the original garage doors, and have removable panels that can be replaced with filters when spraying.

All air/dust tight, so the front half can stay clean when housing the Corrado...

Whilst the other side is where the `dirty` work can take place!

So that`s it for the garage, and it has been thoroughly tested this week with the acquistion of a pretty tidy (in the main) one-owner-from-new Mk3 van.

About 7 hours or so to go from pretty much complete to totally stripped for welding/paint.

Some patching needed round beam mount.

Pit makes a great storage area!

    Needs a pair of sills.

So it needs; sills, wings, a bit more patching underneath, a full spray, suspension, rear beam powder-coated and re-built, interior re-fitted, and myriad other small jobs, but the big question really is...
