Onslow-Cole to join Volkswagen Racing cup
British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) driver Tom Onslow-Cole, 25, will race a brand new Volkswagen Scirocco in the Volkswagen Racing Cup on 4 and 5 August at Snetterton.
Onslow-Cole will pilot the new KPM-built, Milltek Sport-backed car to give it a good shakedown, as he prepares for the BTCC meeting the next weekend.
Another of KPM’s Siroccos, driven by James Walker, leads the standings as the championship enters the final third of the season. Walker has won two of the eight races so far and has yet to finish outside the top three, giving him a 64-point lead over his closest challenger, team-mate Mike Neuhoff, who won at Spa in his Golf GTI.
Sainz Jnr most successful VW F3 driver at Spa
Son of the double World Rally Champion, Carlos Sainz Jr was the most successful Volkswagen-powered driver in the Formula 3 races at Spa in Belgium last weekend.
Sainz Jr claimed third place in the first race round at the legendary track. He then went on to clinch a dominant victory in the wet second race. As a result, Sainz Jr keeps his title hopes alive in both the FIA European and British championships.
Brit Tom Blomqvist, also powered by Volkswagen, recorded his best result of the season too with second place in round two.

Footballers from the FC Schalke 04 team, including goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall, were treated to a passenger ride in the new Polo R WRC.
This was the highlight of a road safety course undertaken by thirty five members of the squad at the invitation of the club’s car partner Volkswagen.
The Polo R WRC boasts almost 300bhp with four-wheel drive and will enter the FIA World Rally Championship in 2013.
