    Hi guys
I’ve got a 02a that got golf rebuilt a while ago. I’ve got 02j shift box and kept the 02a tower.
I regreased all moving bit on the out side of the tower and it was super nice and smooth for a couple weeks but has gone sticky again.
I think the tower might need rebuilding? I believe it’s done maybe 150000 miles now. mare there bits to rebuild?
Or do I need to go 02j now and rebuild one of those?
Any direction on this would be huge helps
    Thanks

Is it still sticky with the cables disconnected ? , I still have all O2a setup but replaced all the plastic bushes in the shifter and shift head ,made a big differance ,got rid of lost motion (play) and moved better when shifting ,have you taken the shift head apart and lubed it up ? ,cheers.

Yeh it’s sticky with the cables off. Used to be able to find all the gears easy using just the weight on the top of the tower.
Used to have a good bit of spring in it.
The shift head, do you mean the piece that bolts onto the gearbox?

Amazing thank you. There’s one on eBay. I’ll get it off at the weekend and see how it looks.
    Thanks for the help!
