not thought of giving them a go yourself? I have done a couple of sets now, first one's I tried where an easy flat 5 spoke corsa alloy and then tried some slightly harder BBS RA's for a mate and both times they looked really good. I wouldn't pay anyone to refurb alloys now....
Yea agreed mk3valver its easy enough to referb wheels yourself I have done a couple of sets myself and I have 3 more sets lined up to do in the very near future! So your from the big K Town valver? I'm only in hampton we should set up a meet round this way!
yeah, there is a thread asking who is from london way and there is quite a few on the south/west side..... my car's not MOT's atm so would have to come in the vauxhall
I've just got the wheels - 17" OZ SuperTurismo - back from JT Finishing in Bury St. Edmunds. They've done a really good job on the wheels, powder coating them in an 'anthracite' grey colour, with a sparkly lacquer (bit too much sparkle for my liking, but I can live with it!). They primarily do powder coating of all sorts of metal work for trade and industry, but do wheels on the side. They don't refurbish badly damaged wheels as such, but the shot blasting and powder takes out & fills in light kerb damage. There are one or two places on the wheels where you can feel a dimple where the deepest of scratches were, but they're not at all visible from further than 6" away! I've had these wheels sitting in a shed for a good couple of years because I intended to have a go myself. But my final year at uni, relocating to live in a rather small house with limited storage for such things, and a real job has meant that I simply haven't had time or space to do it properly. In the end I decided it would never get done unless I let someone else do it, so now that it's done I'm rather pleased. All they need now are some new tyres.
any chance of some pics? and how long did they take and what was the cost? bse is fairly local to me so it would be handy will they do other car bits on the side to?
I'm sure they'll do almost (!) anything if you ask. And, the bloke said they do quite a lot of wheels too (there were several sets lying around). They took a week to do the wheels, but I was in no hurry. They seemed to have lots of jobs going on. The cost was about 55 per wheel inc. VAT. Check out http://www.jtfs.co.uk/ I'll get some photos up soon.
stroll on ...55 notes each aint cheap is it, fancied getting the g60 steels done but they can rust at that price lol
