Anyone got any recommendations or anyone bought from these people? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Banded-s...2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 We would like to put some 15" steel wheels on the car to soften the ride a little and to clear the calipers without having to use spacers. Thoughts?
I thought they got outlawed a few years back, but there are companies still doing it, there's videos of usher fabrication on YouTube. Jbw (John brown wheels that was) used to do wide new steels, various pcd but I haven't looked them up yet. Think you can use some steels off a Megan or clio/kangoo, and a standard wheel, had megane steels on my clio van for a while and were wider than the 16v alloys, or offset made them poke. Those in the ebay ad don't show the welds or much else unfortunately.
They are legal. Just looked up Usher Engineering and they band for £55 per wheel. What are the alternatives? I don't like the wheels with non round holes, just round holes. Did an VW steel wheels come in 15" with round holes?
You need to speak to Duchy if you want banded wheels. His quality is outstanding and I know there are loads of guys in the T6 scene that have his wheels and they are fully insured. His FB page is below. https://www.facebook.com/Duchy-Banded-Wheels-1554667628166822/
G60s, got some 14s baby G in the shed, not 15s I'm afraid. The Renault wheel has round holes usually. Bmw mini is 4x100 as are nissan I think still. Or rover 200/400 25/45. Centre bore is the sticking point. Jbw are beetle only by the looks of it. Didn't you have some cookie cutters off a porsche @PhilRyder , they'd be different with adapters
