Don't accept less than the car would cost to replace. Seriously. I used to work in insurance, and even on a basic policy, if you can prove that the going rate for your car is more than glass' etc. you will get it.

Use the search function - I've done a few posts on this subject, normally for people who've been run into.

Scroll down the first page on the above link for a pic of how it was, only one i've got of it at the moment, doesn't do it justice though, in the flesh it was stunning perfect stance and sooooooooo clean, made the most awsome noise too, straight through 3" exhaust with straight through rear box

I think it looks entirely fixable. Engine out, some skilled hydraulics to move metal back to where it should be - it's not been impacted on its length - and then the tricky job of getting hold of a rear 3/4 panel.

Couple of bumpers, bonnet & wings - and paint?

Hot dry day which in a wierd way is worse because in the wet the tail would breakaway predictably but in the dry it would grip really well and then suddenly go when the turbo kicked in

looks less damage than the 15k value of the car. although it's probably written off through the availability of new or new old stock parts to fix it with.

shame as it looked like it was clean!

It's being collected today by the insurance company [:^(]

I was in the passenger seat when it happened, back end stepped out unexpectedly putting the nearside rear wheel on a grass verge, shooting us across the road into a stone hedge.

We were so lucky really as there was no on coming traffic otherwise it would have been a lot worse.

It's gone, taken away on Monday [:^(]

Even if my dad did want to reshell it he wouldn't have been able to. The insurance company deemed it to be a Cat B write off and refused to let him buy it back.

Plus my mum would have killed him if he got it back on the road, he's now banned from having any fast.
