car feels significantly stiffer.. needs softening i think to absorb the bumps and not pogo off them.. make me feel safer me thinks folly is very very quick and skittish flat in 5th dialing in more power to find traction limit.. and rolling the boost in with rpm/throttle position so its progressively building power. seems like it will enable me to dial in a level to match available traction, albeit on 3 year old ad07 tyres
Happy days Bill. Glad you back out in her. Might be worth while getting Mark down again. Worth his weight in gold the fat *******.
great read yet again , glad to hear its driveable again and yoiur getting to grips with it , well apart from the seat lol !
Bill qualified in P2 for this afternoon's Combe Saloons race http://www.tsl-timing.com/ccrc/2010/101468.pdf Race at 2:35 Results should be up soon after on the results page in the above pdf link.
Just got back in from another great days racing at Combe. I'll let Mr. Brockbank tell you how it ended up, if he comes on here later.
Didn't look too bad from where I was sat. His car expired (in front of us, as it happens), after blue smoke for 7 or 8 laps. No fire as far as I could tell. I didn't get round to the paddock to speak to him again, so I don't know the full story. I can say it was going like a rocket in the qualifying session, and in the first part of the race (where he was convincingly leading his class).
Pics from the day, went down to support Bill Brockbank (Badger5) - Qualifying went well, 2nd fasted but turbo exhaust-turbine housing bolts loosened losing boost, the guys fixed that , but problem re-appeared in the race, Bill was 2nd pretty much the whole race but car expired in the last half lap. Bill narrowly missing a class win , which would have been a great result after a two year absence from Castle Combe saloons. Has this Seat shrunk? Pics http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1628...17&l=57712aec3a
Sorry to bother... I had a good look through the thread, but i couldnt actually see the spec of the engine on this? could yuou list the spec please?
flywheel now lightened and balanced by Hotgolf (cheers Mart) so all the parts I need can now be taken for balancing as an engine set now... then reassembly can commence. new flowed head is here, new valves again, block sat here in 83mm bore, new spec stage 3+ clutch assembly, arp studs, JE's etc etc and a dyno to run it in on when I get to that point.
