[:x] dont you shout at him

well i think if you make ur voice sound like a babies they find it easier to relate to also they see your making an effort and giving them attention even if u do look like a muppet which i find it hard to see seems Recardo constantly looks like one :p

My dog ignores me unless i talk with an overactive voice, i think its deaf below a normal frequency or something. You have to squeak at it to get its attention. Alternatively, stand within 2 miles away from it with a chocalte digestive and it soon knows to come and acknowlegde you hehe

Amazing how animals can do that isn't it!

My cats will be deaf as a post when you want to get their attention, but somehow they can hear the sound of food being opened from anything up to 4 miles away.

It has actually been proven that very young babies respond better to a higher pitched voice, and most women at least, tend to adopt that voice when talkin to them.Nature will out!!
As for doin it when talkin to animals,i've no idea!!!

A book I read a little while back ("The language instinct") totally disproved that. But it's a thick book and there's no 'search' function on the cover

Babies can also recognize the smell of their mothers milk within a few hours after birth.
