Use 1) and 2) if the specific name for your Coilover is not stated above, or if you have a set that is not listed.

    1) Which Coilovers do you have?
    2) Level of adjustment: height only or height and damper

    3) What car are they fitted to: Model/Mk, Spec, Engine Size?
    4) How long have you had them for?
    5) Where did you buy them from?
    6) How much were they?
    7) What percentage of Road/Track driving do you do?
    8) How would you describe the condition they are in now?
8a) Have they ever leaked/become spongey/needed rebuilding/replacing in the time you have had them?
8b) How much did this cost?

    9) Your personal opinion of how they perform and any comparisons you can make if you have tried other coilovers setups.

Try and make your answers in the form of 1) > 9) so that it makes it easier for someone to compare the suspension people have used on a specific model and so on...

I know it may take a few minutes to fill in but I think it will be beneficial to all of us, or at least those looking into the coilover market for the first time or people looking into replacing there old setups. [:$]

    Cheers,
    James. :)

    Koenigsports for me.

3)Fitted to mk2 8v with 280mm brakes and very little speed!

4)Had them for about 15 months now, done about 20k.

    5) Gwent VW (group buy[:D]).

    6) 500 give or take.

    7) 100% Road mofo's!

    8) Still work like they're new damping and performance-wise. Coroded to
feck now though. Just managed to get the colars moving the other week.
As long as you move them every so often it shouldn't be a problem. I do
live VERY close to the sea though.

8a) Never been re-built, but the jury is out after a year or so off the road.

    9) I love them to bits most of the time. Handling is fantastic and the
adjustability is very handy. They're too firm for me sometimes
(carrying 'non car loving' passengers is a bit embarrasing at times),
but on the whole I'd still have chosen them in reterospect.

This is a great idea for a thread BTW. Try and keep it all factual with
just the above details, not general chat about them - there's 101 other
    threads filled with that.

    Fordo!

    1) fk ak's

    2) adjustment,85mm at rear and 120 mm at front,no damping adjustment.

    3)fitted on a mk3 golf ti 16v 1996
    4) had them fitted for just over a week

    5) bought from Gwent vw, nice chaps!

6)an absolute bargain at around 300

    7) dont do any track driving, just road posing

    8) the condition is as new, because they are

    9) if your budget will only allow for a set of fixed height set, seriously concider these as they lower the car so well, and like mine which was initially too low and the sump kept hitting speed humps can be wound up, which i had to do![:^(]very comforatable ride too!! lets see how it is in a years time!

    7) 100% road

    2) height and damper

    3) Mk1, they were used when i had the 1.8 in but havn't got the 2L sorted yet so can't drive it [:^(]
    4) About 2-3 months.
    5) Big Boys Toys
    6) 485 on a 10% of day.
    7) 100% road, at the moment ;)
    8) just dirty from road scum
    8a) nope

    9) Very nice! when i first fitted them i set them on the lowest height and i couldn't get the jack out from under the car. they go low!! Easily adjustable if you want to change settings for track use. On the lightest setting the ride is still quite hard, but that might be something to do with the state of the roads!

    1) H&R
    2) Height only
    3) Mk1 16v with Neuspeed ARB's
    4) 4 years
    5) Suspension Supplies Germany
    6) 550 delivered when they were worth 850(Hehe)
    7) Road 80% Track 20% but with ratio changing towards track
    8) A little crusty but still move with a light clean and lube not much corrosion but a little. FK's got worse in less time
    8a) No
    8b) N/A
    9) Very good for track, better built than FK, has larger piston shaft on front shocks than most and very precise on track. Bit stiff for road use and wont go as low as FK.

If I were to buy again, would look at KW variant 2's as an option.

    1) Fk high sports on the white mk1 and super sports on the silver mk1 (not yet fitted)
    2) height only on both

    3) MK1 1.1 Fk's and MK1 GTI supersports
    4) FK's were on the white one already and were fitted during the summer, supersports are not on the GTI yet [:$]
    5) supersports from some one i knew
    6) Less then 300 i think
    7) all my driving is done on the road
    8) both sets are still mint [:D] [:$]
    8a) no
    8b) NA

    9) like both sets, would prefer maybe a not so harsh ride with the Fk's but then the car sits on the floor so you can't have the best of both worlds...should raise it a bit and see how it rides then, but also the roads were i live are fcking awful to drive on, very bumpy [:x]

I built my own coilovers using one of the kits that you could buy from
demon tweeks, where you get the threaded tube, adjuster plates and
    spring platforms.

    1) Home made

    2) Level of adjustment: way more than i could use, it could drop the
car (a Mk2 Scirocco) right onto the very cut down bumpstops.

    3) What car are they fitted to: Mk2 Scirocco GTI A plate

    4) How long have you had them for? run them for almost a year before selling the car.

    5) Where did you buy them from?
    Demon tweeks

    6) How much were they?
about 200 i think, but that was years ago when coilovers were 550 at the least.

    7) What percentage of Road/Track driving do you do?
    90% road 10% track

    8) How would you describe the condition they are in now?
    scrappy

Getting the tubes onto the shocks (i think they were monroe gas shocks)
was a nightmare, as the spring platforms don't like coming off and i
had to machine down the lip where the stock platform sat against (with
an angle grinder, lol) I think i ised 275lb front springs and 200
rears, ride was quite awful, but i had them wound down so much that the
front wheels only had 15mm of travel left before bottoming out, hey i
was only 18 lol. it looked mental though, and handled like a go-kart.

    1) FK Highsports
    2) Height adjustable 30 - 120mm
    3) Mk2 1990 Golf GTI 16V
    4) Been on almost 2 months
    5) Venom Motorsport
    6) 385 (did a group buy with a total of 3 sets to get this price however)
    7) Never been on a track..yet, but plan to do so soon
    8) Covered in sh*te!
    9) Never had anything other than a very nackered standard VW set up before, these do make it corner far better, but forget ever going fast down country lanes any more [:^(] the car just leaves the road, v scary. motorways are a nightmare too, best never to drive on a full stomach unless you want to see your dinner again

    1) FK High Sport

    2) -35 to -125mm Height only

    3) Rallye, Jabba 4, Zorst

    4) 10 Months

    5) Venom

    6) About 550 i think

    7) All road but have done the Nurburgring once

    8) Very good as i wrapped them with PTFE tape when i fitted them so the threads stay clean ;)

8a) The only problem i have is that the top nut comes lose from time to time as there is not enough clear thread to put a lock nut onto.

    9) The high sprot are great, they do have a very harsh ride at times and take some time to bed in. The only problem i have with them is the fact that i have to run them at full height so i can keep the camber of the rear wheels close to std.

The other thing i have a problem with is that they produce a lot of noise at the back of the car. Some vibration that would have been absorbed with the std setup.
