hi, my friends 1.4 16v golf has a problem, i think he may of put too much oil in it, it has been throwing out loads of black smoke, when i checked the dip stick there was way too muchn oil in it???? could this be the problem?? he said he had filled it up that week, if that is the reason for the smoke, what damage to the engine could this of done???? thanks
if there is too much oil then drain it out. though you'd be seeing blue smoke. fact its black leads me to think its the MAF or O2 sensor needs replaced/cleaned - is it throwing any faults?
