has the normally aspirated 1.8 20v as in the passat and early mk4 gti's, got the same internals i.e. pistons head gasket, as the 20v turbo engine?

I don't know for sure about these engines but the general rule of thumb is that turbo engines have a lower compression ratio (around 8:1) than a normally aspirated engine (around 10:1). So bearing this in mind the minimum difference between the two would be the pistons.
