and the world record for longest amount of time taken to fit alloys. From purchasing (Dubfreeze 2002) to fitting (today) in approx 1.5 years. J plate 1.8 MK2 driver bought in late 2001. Rain sensor, basically I can forget about my wipers now. Now I just need time to clean it. Plans: Like I said 256mm set up on the brake's ARB's Hopefully a respray next year and looking into how to fit a crossflow head with twin carbs. Edited by: Nordoff
Well I like it now, but the place that fitted it originally didn't fit any bumpstops which explains quite a bit. Still a huge improvement over standard shocks and springs. Oh and the TSR 16v mk2 was on sach boge springs at donington yesterday (can't remember what shocks prob konis) which says a fair bit about them.
Nice mate. Thinking of going for the same kit myself. Did you fit the recaro's yourself? did they take much to do?
The recaro's had some weird subframe on which was already welded to a golf subframe. The fronts went in but I need to file down some of those rubber bits that stop the seats from rocking side to side. The backs are really confusing. I'll try and get some pictures up in styling and trim later on and see if anyone recognises what they're from.
would like to see some more pics of the car Gavin, the one at the top is very dark. nice interior good choice with the wheels! Edited by: Dave
