just after some advice. i have a mk2 golf with a 20vt fitted. the problem is the lack of ground clearance beetween the sump and the ground( about 2 inches) i have fitted a sump guard but i read in a vw mag a couple of years back about some guy who had a vr6 engined mk1 golf. he had the sump laser cut and took an inch out of it. is there anyone in the uk that does this kind of thing?
I got this OEM half steel / alloy sump from the states. They are actually shallower and come with a new oil pickup and return pipe. With G60 rear and gearbox mounts and an EIP solid front mount the sump is at the same level as the subframe so ground clearance isn't an issue. Bloody cheap too for an OEM part. http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi/?html=learnmore.html&productID=4369
that is exactly what i'm after. cheers mate when you say its an OEM part does that mean i can get one at the local VW dealer or are they just available from the states?
