    Experts,

I have a 2001 GTi 1.8t, totally standard 150bhp. I have been looking into the RevoTecnik upgrade which claims to increase power to 207bhp, which seems about right. Does anyone know of any problems this might cause, apart from chewing through clutches and tyres quicker..
Its 499, and looked to be the cheapest safe way of boosting power..

It's not a BOV ;) Popular choices are diverter valves from Forge/Bailey. Read the pricing again, you will pay more.

blow off valve, dump valve, diverter valve- all the same! ;)
but yes, the std bosch is a diverter valve, which is a recirculating dump valve, make sure you replace with a recirc, forgee 007p(?) i think is the valve of choice!

Won't the increased boost cause problems with the turbo overheating?

There are loads of ppl running these remaps/rechips whatever you want to categorise it as. Look on UK-mkivs or sc.net and you'll see loads of ppl running Revo no probs on 150 engines.

heat issues only become a problem on 150 cars in the ibiza at 220bhp abouts, fitting a ko4 and a fmic should solve this ;)

See i told you that moving on from gay F**ds was the way forward. ;)

I am sure that the Revo upgrade is safe as it is without needing to do too much extra work, otherwise it would be included in the package. A viable alternative is the APR upgrade.

The standard turbo is probaly capapble of producing 20psi easily so inceeasing it to 15psi with revo is more than safe otherwise they wouldnt sell the software
