Got a 1.9 C&R block that I am going to pop a ported head on to drop in to the Mk1 Cab. Can anyone tell me which head gasket I should buy?

use the late mk3 2.0 gasket, for AGG, ABF etc its a metal gasket which tends to last longer!

Is the bore right, reason I say is that the 2.0l tall block has the same bore as the 1.8 short does it not?

i did some measuring of Head gaskets a while ago, a fibre gasket from a 1.8 set and the metal 2.0 gasket had the same bore just a touch over 83mm

The MLS (metal) ones raise the compression ratio slightly though dont they?

I would give C&R a phone to check what they used.
The 2.0 headgasket can have the locating dowels in a different position, depending on what actual block you have.
Bore size is important too because if the pistons come up proud of the block, there must be clearance in the gasket land for them.
Be wary as certain makes of gasket vary in dimensions too.
