lol that would be easyer ^^^ but why fit carbon bonnets, perspex windows. remove sound deading and then leave something that weights as much as most of them items in there when you can rip it out

Quite right, every gramme counts. Even consider changing the wiring to the lightweight stuff Audi use.

You could always fit a smaller heater matrix to save a bit of weight - I bet there are older cars out there (old MG's maybe?) where the heater unit is smaller due to space restrictions, and in plentiful supply. It's a lot of work to save a kilo, maybe two, though.

    For Example, from Google.
    MG MIDGET Heaters & Cooling
    DESCRIPTION PRICE DETAILS

    HEATING
Square Heater Box - Early 20.00
    Snail Heater 30.00
    1275 Complete Heater Box 40.00
    1500 Heater Box 20.00
    Heater Motor 5.00
    Heater Matrix 8.00

Or find something small and modern-ish (but not modern enough to have the HVAC linked to the ECU) and rip it out of that.

Its not just the weight though, the heater requires power which is a load on the engine.

There'd be f#ck all gain byy removing it.
