Has anyone seen a mk4 150 bhptdi engine put in to a mk2 before? how difficult would this be to put in to a 1990mk2 16V?

This is moreout of curiosity but i think it would be more interesting and differentthan the norm ofa 20vT conversion.

    cheers, andy

I have seen a few mk2 tdi's..not many...a green one springs to mind.

I think, and im no expert, it will cost similar money to a 20vT conversion!

well it's getting closer Sixpot, It will drive daily with boost pipe hanging off [:$] (thats sorted now!) you can have a good nosy( & laugh) if I come up your next meet

I'm not doing much till it warms up, need to put a full sized intercooler in & a couple new boost pipes, then I might clean up the left over conversion bits/mk 2 wiring loom out of the boot!

Something I answered couple days ago

I've been told it's hard that a 20V T, not sure how much, other than theres are no plug in ECM to handle the injectors under couple K's!

So the best option would be to try and find a full donar car (eg a written off car) so you could getall thelooms, gearbox etc!

I have one of these in a pristine shell (no log book) which I need to get rid of to raise money for my next project. Will have more pics/info in a couple of weeks if you're interested

i bought the car without log book or ID and intended to stick the engine in a Corrado, but i don't have the time so I'm buying a Diesel estate to tow the race car around.
whilst the shell is pristine it has no interior, doors, bonnet, hatch etc. and is therefore ideal for a donor and can be heard/seen running.
i'm back home in a couple or 3 weeks and will pull it out of storage and get some photos then

or go one better fitting of a 16V Diesel into a Mk 2, the engine looks even better sitting in the bay ;)

TT shell sounds a good choice for a donor as it has most bits ready rip out & transfer
