16v abf warm/hot start probs

Hi looking at a mates car and he has trouble starting it from warm / hot
Not done a scan yet as he is 200mile away at the min
But he said it start perfect from cold
But from warm/hot it takes a few turns to start and smells of petrol

Any ideas

P.s. he has changed the vac lines
And it's a p reg with 157k on it

 

Coolant temp sensor knackered / disconnected?

Would start ok from cold, but fuel requirements would be miles out on a hot engine if it's saying a low number. (disconnected = -40C)

Not an expensive thing to change
