O.K.... My ABF is getting there. The head is all done with big valves [:D] , waiting on my new cams...Got the ITB's, standalone, great exhaust, cold-air box, vernier, raised CR - what else can I do??? I was thinking a Schrick Sump, ARP Rod bolts (got the head studs already), but these won't help the power issue.

What about a knife-edged crank? Any other ideas...The new batch of V8's here are VERY, VERY quick...as in, faster than an RS6 quick [:^(] I'd like 230BHP on twin 276's...am I dreaming?

Lightened/balanced steel bottom end, raised revs and even spikier cams.

You'll need more than 276s for that power

    300+ mate!

Worth thinking about gear ratios as well, lower FD etc... :)

I'm going by the fact that RobT's Ibiza put out 'nearly' 200bhp (199.8 wasn't it?) at Stealth on 276s ITBs etc..

    Mad20v's got 'about 240' (200ATW) , with 20 valves - 300deg cams and 8500rpm

Is that 200hp with American wheels though, or British wheels. I am lead to believe that the two are massively different.

It's still a daily driver so don't want to go above 276's...I might have to put in the Mk1 to get the performance I'm after [:D]

I considered the gear ratios. I might save up and buy a 6spd, plus a 3.94 r&p...that should help it through the gears a lot.

Only problem is, if I do end up with it in the Mk1, what gearbox do I use? Not too keen on converting to cable change and I'd guess it would rip the AUG rod change box I have to bits
