16v

    hi just got my hands on a mk2 16v just finished some head work and all back together starts no probs and we try it a number of times no probs then nothing now wont start at all any or ideas anybody think it could be the fuel pressure regulator valve

    make sure the timing is spot on. if the head has been off make sure the timing is spot on

    also check for fuel, and check for a spark at both coil and ends of ht leads

    From what you told me earlier Gareth, it sounds like it starts most times, but occasionaly won't fire up, correct?:)

    Should rule timing/fuel supply out, if it is intermittent like that. Maybe i misread you earlier though.

    ok bazza thanks for the reply the car has plenty of spark and fuelstarts like a dream leave it running no probs start 5 times out of five
    than when you want to start the car again IT WILL NOT
    but plenty spark PLENTY FUEL but will not fire is there a pressure regulator or somthing

    When it doesn't start are the plugs flooded with fuel?

    Is the blue cold start valve on the end of the manifold spraying all the time/intermittently getting stuck?

    Unplug it and see if it make any difference, or change it for another
