which way is the engine mounted trnsverse, or longditudinal? - basically I'm looking to swap this into my mk1, will it fit? (its a 1.6 N/A diesel at the mo) Cheers
The engines are mounted transversely, I used to have a '90 1.6 td. I think it was the 1588cc rather than the 1595cc. Not sure if it makes any difference on the fitting into a mk 1, either way I can't help you on that Saying that, if the mk 1 golf had a diesel 1.6 then I think I have just answered it for you cos that could have been a 1588 aswell
